I watched this movie again last night. It is such a compelling story because it was based on the real issues Steig wrote about in Expo Magazine- the real life Millenium magazine portrayed in his books. The real life treatment of victims by criminals is what he captures in his writing.
The intersection of prostitution, public corruption, murders, and illegal drugs In The Girl Who Played with Fire educates the audience in the way that corruption, johns, enforcers, illegal drugs and prostituted victims are weaved in a tapestry of conflict. He lets the bad guys speak and shows the harshness in their perspectives that shrouds the trafficked victims.
These characters collide together and surround Lisbeth with crimes and so accurately shows the many layers of injustice and crime surrounding the her. When they tell of the torture, rapes, crimes, and long histories of injustice by many, one could think they are meeting the real life Lisbeth.
Human trafficking is intolerable and it's victims are not willing, they are not deserving of this hell on earth, and they deserve rescue, restoration, and justice.
